The South Common is one of Lincoln’s incredible green spaces. Located in the south of the city, this stretch of common land is home to grazing horses, an expanse of grassland and some gorgeous views.

Covering over 70 hectares, the South Common is an open green space on the southeastern boundary of Lincoln. Home to a variety of wildlife, plants and shrubbery, this beautiful green space has been designated a site of nature conservation importance.

There are vast areas of flat grassland to explore, and winding pathways will take you to hidden ponds and picturesque picnic spots. Make your way to the top of the hill, through the towering trees, and you will be rewarded with the most incredible view of Lincoln and the Cathedral.

Around a 20 minute walk from the city centre, you can enter the South Common from South Park Avenue or Newark Road.
